Your privacy is important to Champaign Technologies., the owner and operator of the Champaign application (referred to here as “Champaign”), and we are committed to protecting your personal information.  In this policy, we are telling you about the ways we collect and use your information, so you can make an informed choice about whether you will use Champaign.

By using Champaign, you agree and consent to the terms of this policy.  Please check this policy periodically for changes.  We will notify you via email or other electronic communication method(s) of any changes that, in our sole discretion, materially affect your use of Champaign’s services (the “Services”) and/or the treatment of your personal information.  Your use of  the Services following notice, either directly or through changes to this policy, constitutes acceptance of those changes.


Champaign wants our users to understand our policies and procedures related to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personally identifiable information received through the Champaign application (referred to here as the “Site”).  By using the Site you are consenting to our use of your information as described in this policy, now and as amended by us in the future, including the use of cookies and collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining, and/or disclosing information (in any way not expressly excluded by this policy), all of which will happen in the United States.  If you reside outside the United States, your personally identifiable information will be transferred to the United States and will be processed and stored there under United States privacy standards.  By using Champaign and providing information to us, you consent to such transfer to, and processing of, your information in the United States.  

What Information is Collected

In addition to data concerning your web usage (such as cookies and Log Data), described below, Champaign will collect information about you needed to create your account, contact you, and ensure payment of fees owed to Champaign (such as credit card information).  

Champaign will also have access to specific information on its users’ social media accounts.  This information is used to create Champaign’s automated spread (that is, a layout of optimal times for posting content to your social media accounts).  The information is also used for analytical purposes, such as to capture and analyze third party engagement with your content.  Champaign will only have access to such information as you authorize us to access.  Each social media network may allow you to manage Champaign’s access to specific data on the network.  You may revoke Champaign’s authorization to access data on your social media accounts at any time by either deleting the channel (i.e., the social media network) in Champaign or by using the settings in your social media account.  

We have no control over how various social media networks collect or use the personal information that you supply to them.  Please refer to the privacy policies of those networks for more information about how they use your information.

Reasons for Collecting Information and Uses of Information

Our main goals in collecting personally identifiable information are to provide you with the Champaign Services, to communicate with you, and to manage your registered user account, if you have one.  If you desire to have access to and use the Champaign Services, you will be required to become a registered user, and to submit certain personally identifiable information to us. This happens in a number of instances, such as when you sign up for the Services, or if you desire to receive marketing materials and information. Personally identifiable information that we may collect in such instances may include your IP address, username, password, email address, city, time zone, telephone number, and other information that you choose to provide us with.

We may also use your contact information to market to you, and provide you with information about, our products and services. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive such information or communications from us, you may Unsubscribe.

We may use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, improve, and enhance our services;
  • For research, analytics, and/or other statistical purposes;
  • To respond to users’ requests and/or feedback;
  • To detect, prevent, or resolve security or technical issues;
  • To resolve disputes and enforce our policies; and
  • In compliance with any applicable law, court order, or regulation.

How Information is Collected

When you visit the Site, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your IP address, browser type or the domain from which you are visiting, the web-pages you visit, the search terms you use, and any advertisements on which you click. For most users accessing the Internet from an Internet service provider the IP address will be different every time you log on. We use Log Data to monitor the use of the Site and of our Service, and for the Site’s technical administration. We do not associate your IP address with any other personally identifiable information to identify you personally, except in case of violation of our Terms of Use.

Like many websites, we also use “cookie” technology to collect additional website usage data and to improve the Site and our service. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer’s hard disk. We do not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information. Champaign may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with the Site and our Services, to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on the Site, and to improve the Site and our Services. A session cookie enables certain features of the Site and our service and is deleted from your computer when you disconnect from or leave the Site. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Site. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser help file directions. Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. You can instruct your browser, by editing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit.

We Do Not Share Your Personal Information

Champaign does not give or sell your personal information to third parties.  We may, however, cooperate with government and law enforcement officials or private parties to the extent we deem necessary to comply with the law, to respond to claims or to legal process (including but not limited to subpoenas), to protect the rights, property, and/or safety of Champaign, its users, the public,or others, and/or to prevent or stop any illegal activity.  

Champaign may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including your personally identifiable information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy. You will have the opportunity to opt out of any such transfer if the new entity’s planned processing of your information differs materially from that set forth in this Privacy Policy.


Champaign employs reasonable administrative, physical and electronic measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access. We will make any legally-required disclosures of any breach of the security, confidentiality, or integrity of your unencrypted electronically stored personal data to you via email or conspicuous posting on this Site in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, consistent with (i) the legitimate needs of law enforcement or (ii) any measures necessary to determine the scope of the breach and restore the reasonable integrity of the data system.

Our Site may contain links to other websites. The fact that we link to a website is not an endorsement, authorization or representation of our affiliation with that third party. We do not exercise control over third party websites. These other websites may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data or solicit personally identifiable information from you. Other sites may have different practices regarding the use or disclosure of the personally identifiable information you submit to them. We encourage you to read the privacy policies or statements of the other websites you visit.

Provisions Concerning Children

Champaign is not directed to, nor intended to be used by, persons under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personally identifiable information without their consent, he or she should contact us at We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal identifiable Information, we will delete such information from our files.
