Social Media posts with images generate more engagement. Give your Social Media images an extra boost with the following helpful tips. When you are sharing images, especially on visually-driven social media sites like Pinterest, Instagram and Houzz, these pointers will help viewers quickly differentiate your images from the rest (can you identify which ones the sample image is using?):

SET A GOAL

Decide what you’d like this image to do for you. Is it simply to remain visible or are there specific actions you’d like your viewers to engage in? Understanding your objectives can guide the rest of the content you include with your post.

BRAND IT

Add your brand/company name/logo on your own images. If you have a uniquely shareable image or message, this will allow your brand to travel with that image as it is shared.

EDITORIALIZE IT

Add a comment or some text with your post to give your viewers context for what that image is about.

ADD A LINK

Add a link to your image that leads the reader back to you. This will give them an opportunity to get better e-quainted with you.

TAG OTHER PROFILES

Where appropriate, tag other profiles to your image. This will call your post to their attention and may be the boost they need to share it with their audience. Most common tags you can use would be people, locations, venues or businesses related to your post.

USE HASHTAGS

Hashtags are like keywords for social media. Use hashtags relevant to your post and the audience you are trying to reach in order to increase the visibility of your post.

CREATE A CALL TO ACTION

Think back to your image’s goal. Is there something you’d like your viewer to do when they see this image? Include your call to action to remind your viewer what you’d like to do with them next.

BE RESPONSIVE TO YOUR AUDIENCE

When someone comments or replies to your post, use it as an opportunity to assess where that audience member is in your sales funnel and determine how you need to cultivate your relationship. Always send a response online and followup offline as needed.
